Wild Goose Chase

By Chris

Just finished with Mark Batterson’s latest book, Wild Goose Chase!  I have to strongly suggest that you get your hands on this book and read it! The book is being released on Tuesday, Aug. 19 so make sure you order it now so you can get it before the first printing sells out.

The first observation about this book is that it is obvious that Batterson is passionate about helping others experience life to the fullest through following the Holy Spirit, the Wild Goose.

I feel like writing too much will ruin the read for you so I’ll keep it short.

I love the metaphor of following the Holy Spirit through our lives as a wild goose chase!  Batterson isn’t talking about chasing silly things in our lives or even trying to do the impossible.  He is talking about engaging deep enough in our lives with God that we do what is only possible with Him and through following His Spirit.

Although it seemed like the book drew heavily from the teachings of some other pastors (like Chan & Giglio), and even from Batterson’s own teaching (Chase The Lion series at NCC,)  everything in the book is worth reading.

This book would be especially valuable for the college-aged, the person in transition, or anyone that has been feeling like there just has to be something more to their life than what it is now.

Note – Wild Goose Chase ends on the note of challenging the reader to think about setting some life goals.  Once you have purchased the book, you should know that you can go to ChaseTheGoose.com to download a free copy of goal setting guide that Batterson put together.
