When Leadership and Discipleship Collide by Bill Hybels is a super short, easy read. If you need a reminder on what ministry is really about you should spend the couple bucks and the hour and a half that it will take you to read this.
Hybels presents a number of occasions from the Gospel of Mark where Jesus seems to be breaking well known leadership principles, or “laws.” Then Hybels goes on to talk about some situations in his own life where he struggled with what to do when leadership and discipleship seemed to be colliding. That’s about it, simple, short, and to the point.
