Taking New Risks
ByOne of the things I have really learned to value in life and ministry is risk taking. Not the stupid kind of risk taking but the kind of risks you take when you are working on loving and serving in better ways.
After Easter we are going to be taking another risk (admittidly not a huge risk) with our youth ministry program on Sunday mornings.
Since September we have been working with the XP3 program and it has been great, but now we are feeling a little too safe with it. No, we are not jumping ship! We have already decided that we like XP3 so much that we are going to go that route again next year. Here is what we are going to do about once a quarter though:
A 3-week series called Radeus U.
- Each time the series comes around on the schedule we will offer about 4 different topics from which students will select one that they want to be a part of for the three weeks.
- Each topic is lead/taught by a different staff member.
- Different options will be targeted toward different level students (i.e. 101, 201, 301, 401 classes.)
Anyone out there try something like this before?
