Week 13 – RagamuffinTop Challenge
Posted by: | CommentsAll things considered this was a pretty good week! No weight loss but I didn’t go backwards either and considering this past weekend was filled with the junk food of a jr. high camp and was also filled with the first sodas (probably 6-7 of them) that I have had in months it was a great week! All of the down sides meant that I had to work extra hard on the bike. I usually ride about 13 mi./day when I ride to and from the office. This week, on my vacation, I have been riding 18 mi./day.
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 13 = 202.5
* This week = 0 change
* Total= -17.5

Week 12 – RagamuffinTop Challenge

Wow! I can’t believe that I have been in this challenge for 12 weeks, 3 months!
Since I am getting closer and closer to my stated goal I am beginning to think about what is next for me. I am pretty sure that I am going to start on the 100 Push Up program! Not certain yet, but I think that the extra exercise will help in finishing off my weight goal and then giving a good solid strength goal to focus on next.
Anyway, this week was pretty good again! Been riding the bike to the office (when it isn’t raining) and been doing pretty good eating healthy!
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 12 = 202.5
* This week = -2.5
* Total= -17.5

Week 11 – RagamuffinTop Challenge
Posted by: | CommentsLost another lb this week even though it has been the same old song with the weather preventing me from riding my bike as much as I would like to. This week I only got to make 1.5 round trips on my commute to the office. I suppose I should find another way to work out, especially since I won’t be able to ride in the winter but I am thinking I’ll figure that out when it comes along
So without further delay…
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 11 = 205.0
* This week = -1
* Total= -15

Week 9 – Ragamuffin Top
Posted by: | CommentsIt seems like I have this thing figured out, although I am sure it won’t be for long because I have a strong feeling that as I get closer and closer to my goal it will be getting harder and harder to drop the weight. I certainly do have room to increase the frequency of my workouts though. Now it will be just a matter of actually doing it! So how did the challenge go for me in week 9?
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 9 = 206.0
* This week = -1.5
* Total= -14

Week 8 – Ragamuffin Top

I really had no idea which way this week would go. We had our annual pastors’ planning retreat and I had no control over the menu and I couldn’t ride my bike. I could however control how much I ate and tried to get some extra exercise in other ways like walking and surprisingly on the jet ski, that is a workout in rough water!
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 8 = 207.5
* This week = -2.5
* Total= -12.5

Week 7 – Ragamuffin Top
Posted by: | CommentsI knew this was coming. After a week filled with a big family party, a huge all church picnic, a party for a friend of mine who was visiting from Long Beach, Ca., and not a single day on my bike, the gain was bound to happen, the only question in my mind was “how much?”
Here are the stats:
* Goal = 195
* Starting weight = 220
* After week 7 = 210
* This week = +0.5
* Total= -10

Week 6 – Ragamuffin Top
Posted by: | CommentsSorry! I know I said that I wasn’t posting for a few days but I had forgotten about the Challenge!
This week was really tough and I came into my weigh in this morning fully expecting poor results. Over the course of the past week Sarah made a Strawberry pie that was delicious and I only got to ride the bike to the office once due to a short week and some poor weather. A party later today and our huge church picnic are not going to help me with next weeks results but here are the stats:
- Goal = 195
- Starting weight = 220
- After week 6 = 209.5
- This week = -2.5
- Total= -10.5
The proof (Yes! I am as surprised as you!):

Oh, and the bruised toe is from indoor soccer.
Week 5 – Ragamuffin Top
Posted by: | CommentsIt seems like things started clicking for me this week. I did by far my worst week at eating healthy and the scale moved in my favor. I think that I have put in enough hard work and good eating that my metabolism has shifted gears. On Thursday night I had a huge rib eye steak sandwich with roasted red peppers, onion rings, and french fries piled on top and I still lost weight! I have been working pretty hard on my bike commute to and from the office and I added a day of playing indoor soccer this week.
Here are the stats:
- Goal = 195
- Starting weight = 220
- After week 5 = 212
- This week = -3.0
- Total= -8.0

Week 4 – Ragamuffin Top
Posted by: | CommentsUh oh, now I know what those people on the biggest loser feel like! This week of the challenge was my best week for exercise and I was really good at eating! I actually rode my bike for 5 days this week instead of the usual 2 times! Well, I guess I’ll chalk the results up to muscle gain, yeah, that’s what I will keep telling myself
- Goal = 195
- Starting weight = 220
- After week 4 = 215
- This week = +0.5
- Total= -5.0
