Since we are only on the third day of 2009, I thought I could still get away with posting new year stuff!  Thanks to Mike Novelli for pointing this great video out!

2009 Pixilation Video

Watch the video at the link above then come back to see how it was done…

Done watching?

OK.

They used a process called pixilation, “a stop motion technique where live actors are used as a frame-by-frame subject in an animated film, by repeatedly posing while one or more frame is taken and changing pose slightly before the next frame or frames.”

The original link (HERE) has a making-of video in French with Dutch subtitles that is worth watching. This stunning video took…

  • 4 weeks of prep
  • 4 days of shooting
  • 20 “animators”
  • 288,000 tea lights!

Word about iamsecond has been floating around for a couple weeks now but I am still really impressed at these videos and their site! Great stuff, be sure to pass it along and start a spiritual conversation!

Ok, like I have said before, I will usually post my graphic art on the page that I have designated for that. This time though, I am thinking that you might be able to help me out. I need some feed back on a possible Sunday message series graphic, here is a rough draft
Old School

Any thoughts?

Bring the hits! I can take ‘em! Plus, it will probably lead to a better end product!

I want to try to help some other people out but I don’t want to be out here always trying to make myself look good.  So I won’t be posting about the graphic art that I do too often.  If you are interested in message series graphics just check out the menu option at the top of the page or just go here.

Enjoy!

Some of you may know that one of the things that I enjoy is taking photos!  Well, I thought I’d share some but instead of adding them as posts I created a new page that you soo in the upper right hand corner (if you are reading via RSS, you can see the page here).  There are just a few pics up there now but I’ll add more as I have time, enjoy!

Thought I should take a minute to share why I haven’t been blogging much lately.  Most of my spare time has been taken up with web site design.  I have just finished (minus some of the text and pictures I am waiting on from others) the new website for my church.  Nothing fancy or super high tech but I think it gets the job done and gets people the info that they need in a clear fashion. Decided to take some photos last night of my neighbors’ Christmas lights since I have been too busy to get mine up.  I suppose I could have worked on that instead of taking these pics but it was more fun to to play with my camera!  So, here are three neighbors, two of them I like and one is way over the top!lights

Just got the promotional postcards in for the series that we will be starting on January 6. These cards will be given to everyone that comes through the door for our Christmas Eve services and will be available for regular attenders to grab in order to invite friends along. I am really happy with how they turned out, one of my better works since I am still a solidly in the amature, unprofessional world of design.
What do you think?
