9. Show patience.

Teenagers are farther away from understanding the Gospel than in previous generations. We must be teaching the teenagers in our ministries that once they have built solid relationships and earned the right to be heard, they should not hesitate to invite friends to submit to Christ. We make sure they know that their friends will have plenty of questions that might need answering first, patience and love are critical.

10. Do it for one reason—the glory of God.

The only reason to be missional is to make Christ more widely known. God is worthy of being honored by all of creation, and it should be the only reason why we are teaching teenagers participate in His mission.  It is a huge temptation to create systems and strategies to use teenagers to build our youth ministries.  Nothing could be more selfish, let’s help teenagers that they are a part of worshiping God through the way that they are living their lives day in and day out.
