A Christian should be the most trustworthy confidant another person has in the world. We need to be teaching the teenagers in our care how they can be the kind of people everyone else wants to be around. Part of the youth worker’s job, in a missional youth ministry, is to help students develop into the best friends and the best party throwers in their school! Sounds crazy again but teenagers should be skipping the weekend kegger in order to be at the parties that the kids from our youth ministries are throwing. Students in the local high schools should immediately think of teens from our youth ministries when the need someone that they can trust.
4. Watch for a chance to serve.
People use up all of their energy on family, work and menial chores. Let’s teach our teenagers to look for ways that they can care for their neighbors—even if it is just throwing an extra tray out in the school cafeteria.
